Farm Tours will Resume in the Fall - 2021!
GYO GREENS uses a sustainable farming method which combines traditional aquaculture (raising aquatic animals - in our case, fish - in tanks) with hydroponics (cultivating plants in water) in a symbiotic environment. All produce is grown naturally using standard organic practices.
Here are some of our aquaponics education topics:
Our education program is only for students wanting to complement their STEM curriculum with projects at our site.
Please note we do not offer commercial aquaponics training.
If you are an educator interested in bringing your students to learn and tour the farm, please contact us at education@gyogreens.com. A farm staff will assist you on planning your school visit to our farm and provide detailed guidelines. School tours require at least 10 students but can accommodate up to 20 max. We can do tours on Wednesday mornings at 10 or 11 only. School tours are $50 for 20 students and 2 adults. Additional adults are $10/ea up to a maximum of 4 adults. We will send you an invoice for payment and reservations. Tours last approximately 45 - 60 min. NO photos allowed.
Visit the GYO GREENS Aquaponic Farm for an interesting and educational introduction to aquaponics, organic and sustainable practices. You can expect for your tour to last for 1 hour and give you a broad overview of farm systems, designs and theory. These tours fill up fast and we can only accommodate those who reserve a spot in advance. Tour fee is $25 per person. The tour includes a student version of the farm cookbook and produce sample. Once you tour our farm, you may want to create an aquaponic system of your own! NO photos allowed.
Farm tours are offered typically during the Spring and Fall months. Please visit our Instagram, Twitter and/or Facebook pages for tour dates.
If you would like to have a more personalized visit with one of our GYO GREENS Team, consider scheduling a private visit. Private tours are available by appointment only. Private tours are more flexible in length and cost $150 for up to four guests and $15 for each additional person. The private tours allow for more specific questions than what can be properly addressed during a group tour. These tours include an overview ONLY of our farm Aquaponics system, design and theory. Payments for private tours are collected in advanced by invoice. No refunds are given if cancellations are made less than 24 hours. NO photos allowed.
See you at the farm!
